Brow Services at Robert Andrew

Brow Tint

Eyebrow tinting is the process of applying semi-permanent dye to enhance, shape, and define your brows. Tinting allows a professional to manipulate the brow area by darkening the fine hairs that surround the perimeter of the brow to increase the width.

Brow Lamination (Lift)

Eyebrow Lift keeps your brows looking stunning and healthy and unlike permanent brow tattooing Eyebrow Lift is absolutely pain free. Product is applied to the eyebrow hairs creating a chemical reaction on the hair lifting them up. The brow is shaped and then tinted. The treatment lasts approximately four weeks and does not use ink or a permanent process whatsoever.

Brow Microblading

Microblading is a manual form of tattoo that was developed in Japan.  Instead of using a traditional tattoo machine, the technician uses a tool that has what appears to be a small blade at the end.  This tool is used to etch strokes of pigment into the epidermis of your skin to provide the appearance of hair. Our Microblading is done using a technique that produces strokes that are crisp and very fine resulting in very natural looking eyebrows regardless of whether there is hair present or not. The pigments are specially formulated to very closely match the color of your existing eyebrow hair. Great for anyone looking for full, flawless, and natural looking eyebrows! Two treatments are needed and the standard time for follow up is four to six weeks after initial treatment. Consultation is required before scheduling this appointment.

What to Expect

Immediately following your procedure, the tattooed area will appear to be darker and bolder in color and more sharply defined. This will last 3-4 days. Do not panic! It is normal. Swelling and redness is minimal with most clients, and will disappear within 24-48 hours.  In some cases, it may last around the eyebrow area for up to 3 days, but will not prevent working or socializing. The treated area may feel a bit like a sunburn afterwards but there should only be minimal discomfort.

The complete healing process takes about 6-8 weeks, at which time the true color of the tattoo is evident. During this process, your tattoo will soften and lighten. Be patient, even if you think too much color has been lost, as your skin is still regenerating and naturally exfoliating. Wait at least 6 weeks to see the true color, as it seems to take on new strength, and it is only after 6 weeks that your touch-up/adjustment can be done.

Keep in mind that microbladed brows healed up to 30% softer than the initial color. Please note that final results cannot be guaranteed as each unique skin type will hold pigments differently and break down at different rates. The tattooed hair strokes tend to have a more crisp look once healed on dry skin compared to more blurry strokes on oily skin. We will re-evaluate how your skin has received the pigment at your touch-up appointment and make any changes necessary.

Healed results will vary with each individual client and using a pencil or powder may still be needed. Additional sessions (charged accordingly) may be required to obtain optimal results.

Microblading FAQ’s

How long does microblading last?

The treatment is considered semi-permanent and will fade over time. Touch-ups are recommended every periodically to maintain shape, color, and detail. How often depends on a number of factors including:

  • Skin type: oily skin fade faster
  • Pigment color used: lighter colors fade faster
  • Sun exposure: over time can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment
  • Use of daily anti-aging products: e.g. Tretinoin (Retin-A) & Alpha Hydroxy. These products increase your cell turnover rate and will shorten the life of your cosmetic tattoo

The life of your brows will depend mostly on home care.  It’s important especially while the brows are healing to take good care of them by following your technician’s instructions.  Once the brow has healed it is important to avoid exfoliation in the area and use of Vitamin-A products close to the brow.  Additionally you will need to protect them from fading due to UV exposure by using SPF.

Does it hurt?

We do all that we can to ensure that the process is as comfortable as possible. Before the Microblading begins, a topical anesthetic is applied to the area to minimize discomfort, followed by a liquid anesthetic during the procedure. Some clients may feel a slight discomfort, but it’s relatively pain free for most. PLEASE NOTE that if you are a frequent smoker, or have your appointment during your menstrual cycle, the pain level could be intensified. Every client is different. The answer to this question depends on your level of pain tolerance, response to the anesthetic and the skill of the technician performing the service.

Will I bleed during the service?

Generally there is no bleeding during the service.  Since the technician is only etching into the epidermis and is not going to deeper into the nutritive layer or dermal layer of the skin, there is minimal to no bleeding.  A vasoconstrictor is used in conjunction with the topical anesthetic gel applied during your service to aid in comfort.

How do you decide on the shape of my brow?

This is all about you, your style and how you like your eyebrows to appear.  Your eyebrows will be measured based on the features of your face to create a guideline for where the brow should naturally fall.  The thick or thinness of the brow is up to you.  You also choose your color, brow length and edge shaping.  The result is the best looking brow based on your shape of face and skin tone.  The technician will guide you but ultimately these decisions are yours.

Can I exercise after my appointment?

You must avoid working out for 7 days following your microblading appointment. Light exercising is allowed (minimal sweating), but you must clean the tattooed area with lukewarm water as soon as you are done exercising. The salt in sweat will fade the pigment very quickly and give poor results.

Lash Services at Robert Andrew

Strip Lashes

Strip lashes, reusable strip lashes and also cluster lashes.

Lash Extensions

Three types of lash extensions are available:

  • Cats Eye Lashes: Applied to the outer corners to give a “cate eye” look.
  • Classic Lashes: Applied to entire eye for a “natural look”.
  • Luxx Lashes: Applied to the entire eye for either a full or thick look or long and dramatic look.

Lash Fill In service is also available. Must be done every 2-3 weeks otherwise, reverts to full set application.

Lash Tint

An eyelash tint consists of adding a special dye to your eyelashes, giving you weeks of dark, full lashes without the assistance of mascara. You recline in a salon chair and a technician applies the dye to your lashes while you keep your eyes closed for about 10 minutes. It’s a quick, relatively painless process.

Lash Lift and Tint

This service is time saving, and highlights your natural beauty. Lash lifts and tints are a fantastic option for everyone who is interested in dark, luscious, and beautifully curled lashes with low-maintenance and minimal commitment. A lash lift is the permanent restructure of the hair shape, giving you lifted lashes for the duration of their lash cycle, 6-8 weeks. Lash lifts require no aftercare after the first 24 hours.

Eyelash Extensions Pros

  • It is nice to feel a little glamorous all the time. First thing in the morning!
  • Minimal makeup = quicker morning routine! On that same note, I love not feeling the need to put makeup on every day.
  • They are comfortable. I usually hate fake eyelashes.
  • They are perfect for brides!
  • I love that they last a few weeks.

Lashes FAQs

What are eyelash extensions?

A lash extension treatment involves applying individual synthetic lashes onto each natural eyelash to add extra length and volume. They’re perfect for holidays, a big event or just perfect lashes every day. It takes around an hour and a half for a full set to be applied, so it’s definitely not a lunch-break treatment.

What do eyelash extensions do?

Put simply, eyelash extensions are thin fibers that resemble natural eyelashes. Using permanent adhesive, these thin fibers are attached to each natural eyelash giving a lengthened appearance of each lash. Eyelash extensions are typically made of mink, synthetic silk, or synthetic mink.

Do lash extensions ruin your real lashes?

The biggest myth is that lash extensions ruin your own lashes. They do not. If applied correctly and properly, they are safe and do not ruin the health of your natural lashes. Be sure not to rub your eyes or tug or pull on the extensions because this can cause lash loss and even damage to your natural lashes.

Treat yourself. You deserve it.
